We collect sensitive information only where it is reasonably necessary for our work and you consent, or where collection is otherwise permitted by law. This may include health, diversity, criminal-history or professional-membership information.
3. How we collect information
We may collect personal information:
- directly from you through applications, forms, calls, interviews, email and meetings;
- from clients, referees, employers, colleagues and people who refer you to us;
- from job boards, professional networks and publicly available sources;

- automatically when you use our website, subject to your browser and cookie settings.
If you give us information about another person, please make sure you are permitted to do so and that they understand how their information may be handled.
4. Why we use personal information
We use personal information to:
- provide recruitment, search, contracting, payroll and workforce services;
- assess suitability, match people to opportunities and manage applications;
- introduce candidates to clients with the candidate's knowledge or authorisation where appropriate;

5. Who we disclose information to
Where reasonably necessary for these purposes, we may disclose information to:

- government, regulatory or law-enforcement bodies where required or authorised by law.
We do not sell personal information.
6. Overseas processing
Some technology and service providers may store or process information outside Australia. The countries involved can change as providers and hosting arrangements change. You may contact us for current information relevant to your data. Where the Privacy Act applies, we take reasonable steps to require appropriate handling of personal information by overseas recipients.
7. AI and automated tools
We may use software and AI-assisted tools to help organise information, classify records, draft content, search our network and identify potentially relevant roles or candidates. These tools support our consultants; they do not replace human review of material recruitment decisions. We do not rely solely on automated processing to decide whether a person is employed by a client.
8. Marketing, cookies and analytics
We may send relevant job, market or service communications where you have requested them or where otherwise permitted. You can unsubscribe using the link in an email or contact us directly. Service messages about an active application or engagement are not marketing messages.
Our website may use cookies and similar technologies for essential functionality, security, analytics and performance. You can control non-essential cookies through your browser settings, although some features may work differently.
9. Security, retention and deletion
We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards designed to protect information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. No storage or transmission method is completely secure.
We retain information for as long as reasonably needed for recruitment, contracting, legal, insurance and record-keeping purposes. When it is no longer required, we take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it. You may ask us to delete information, but legal or operational retention requirements may mean we cannot delete every record immediately.
10. Access and correction
You may ask to access personal information we hold about you or correct information that is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete, irrelevant or misleading. We may need to verify your identity. If an exception applies, we will explain our decision where required.
11. Privacy enquiries and complaints
Contact our Privacy Officer at hello@changerecruitment.com.au or write to Change Recruitment, Reservoir Street, Surry Hills NSW 2000. Please include enough information for us to understand and investigate your request.
We will acknowledge a privacy complaint and aim to respond within a reasonable period. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
12. Data breaches and policy changes
We assess suspected data breaches and, where required, notify affected people and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner under the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.
We may update this policy when our services, systems or legal obligations change. The current version and its effective date will be published on this page.
